  • Is 100% committed to finishing the program
  • Will serve her community with skill, knowledge, empathy and compassion
  • Is open-minded, open-hearted and able to serve women of all races, creeds, religions, family structures and orientations 
  • Does not engage in gossip, either about the clients, their fellow students or their instructors
  • Is discrete, kindly and a team player
  • Has good hygiene
  • Does not lie, cheat or steal
  • Has good study habits 
  • So greatly desires to be a midwife that she doesn't find reading the stacks of required books to be a chore but rather finds it to be a gift
  • Is respectful in client's homes
  • Understands that the primary job of the midwife is cleaning up excrement, doing paperwork, cleaning and networking and gladly takes on these task. Catching babies is a blessing, but it is not our primary job
  • Has a computer and good computing skills 
  • Has good communication skills
  • Is healthy and able to devote the next 3-4 years of her life to midwifery studies
