The Phoenix Birth Foundation is extremely proud to host Hakima Tafunzi, founder of Uzazi Village, to kick off our Student Midwives of Color educational program.

We know that many of you would like to support the students and meet Hakima! We have a few options for you. 1) Sponsor the registration for someone who might not otherwise be able to attend this important educational weekend 2) Come have dinner with us on Saturday evening, October 28th.

CPR
9am-11am
Certificate of completion is available. This class is for People of Color.
CardioPulmonary Resuscitation is an important lifesaving skill that everyone should have. Many professions and employers require valid CPR card for employment.

Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Course *
1pm - 5pm
Certificate of completion available. This class is for People of Color.
NRP is an important lifesaving skill that everyone who works in the birth setting should have. It is a requirement for all midwives in Arizona.

Community Potluck Dinner
6pm - 8pm:
All are invited, this gathering is for everyone! Bring a potluck dish, come meet Hakima and visit The Phoenix Birth Center.

Breastfeeding and Women of Color
10am - 12pm:
CEU's available. This class is reserved for People of Color. 
Breastfeeding is one of the best ways to improve the health of all children. Women and Babies of Color have unique breastfeeding barriers and strengths. Understanding them both can help us to serve with efficacy and joy.

Racial disparities in Health Outcomes
3pm - 5pm:
CEU's available. This class is reserved for People of Color. 
Women and Babies of Color miscarry and die at rates two, three and up to four times as high as White women do. Why is this? What can we do? 

*Neonatal Resuscitation Program
The NRP program has two parts. The first part must be done online. If you register for NRP, you will be sent instructions.
