ARIZONA BIRTH CARE PROVIDERS

In Arizona, births are typically attended by perinatologists, obstetricians, family practice physicians, certified nurse midwives, naturopathic physicians who are also certified professional midwives, licensed midwives and licensed midwives who are also certified professional midwives. 

In Arizona, women typically give birth in hospitals with labor and delivery departments, in hospital birthing centers, free standing birth centers and homes. 

Hospital births are typically tended by perinatologists, obstetricians, family practice physicians and certified nurse midwives. 

Hospital birthing center births are usually tended by perinatologists, obstetricians, family practice physicians, certified nurse midwives

Free standing birth center births are usually tended by certified nurse midwives, naturopathic physicians who are also certified professional midwives, licensed midwives and licensed midwives who are also certified professional midwives. 

Home births are typically tended by certified nurse midwives, naturopathic physicians who are also certified professional midwives, licensed midwives and licensed midwives who are also certified professional midwives. 

All but licensed midwives may prescribe medication and provide family care services.
